Model description: In creating this Facebook model, my first goal was to understand Facebook and its sector (Information & Technology). In these tumultuous times where the S&P 500 has fallen -2.44%, the Information & Technology sector has risen 18.04% YTD. I felt this could be explained by worldwide quarantining, forcing people all around the world to find safe haven in our social media outlets and computer games. Nilay is currently a sophomore at Williams College who is pursuing his bachelor of arts degree in biology and economics. He currently works at Eagle Leaf Group LLC, a search fund with the goal of optimizing businesses to better help the environment. At Williams, he is part of a portfolio management group where he and other students oversee $130,000+. Nilay has also worked for George Mason University’s biochemistry group where his role ranged from publishing papers, filing for patents, conducting research, and teaching masters and undergrad students how to use biotechniques. He founded and ran a not-for-profit called Youth Adopt A Veteran (YAAV) where Nilay and his team worked to reintegrate returning veterans. He plays varsity squash at Williams College and tutors students in biology, math, economics, and SAT and ACT subjects. He lives in Ashburn, VA.
