Owen is a graduate of the Virginia Military Institute where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Economics and Business. Some of his favorite courses were Public Choice, Game Theory, Money and Banking, and Econometrics. He also studied abroad at the Warsaw School of Economics for one semester. While in attendance, he participated in the Cadet Investment Group—a student-run, long-only equity fund—as an Analyst covering small-cap companies in the technology sector. He pitched SYNNEX Corporation (NYSE: SNX) because of its undervaluation and strong fundamentals. The stock later rose by over 27% during the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, Owen actively follows and invests in the financial markets. His current portfolio consists of RPRX, MA, PFE, EPOL, and QQQ. Outside of finance, Owen enjoys camping, hiking, working out, reading, watching movies, and playing poker and the drums. He has also been teaching himself the Polish language for several years now and even writes a Polish-English culture blog. Owen is currently seeking full-time opportunities in equity research or equity capital markets.
